Dexter’s Story
Dexter was purchased by Dream Catcher Therapy Center in January, 2014. His owners were unable to keep weight on him and keep him healthy. After careful assessment, it was decided that he would stay with us so his health could be carefully monitored. We were told that Dexter was a kid’s horse but he has not been ridden since being with us.
He is a very reactive horse and because of his age, needs a quiet person to handle him. Dexter gets along with just about everyone (horse and human) but can be a bit nervous about people reaching too quickly toward his face. Dexter loves to be groomed and loved on which make him a great fit in our Mental Health Program. Dexter is a horse who would love to have a volunteer to call his own, who he would see every day and who would give him unconditional love (and lots of treats!).
