Meet Lucy — A Horse With Heart, Hope, and Endless Try
Lucy isn’t just a beautiful horse; she’s a soul you feel the moment you meet her. Gentle, willing, and full of personality, she brings warmth to every space she enters. Whether you’re walking beside her or sitting quietly in the saddle, Lucy makes you feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
Trained to Level Two in Parelli Natural Horsemanship, Lucy carries with her the results of countless hours of patient, thoughtful work. She responds with softness, trusts deeply, and shines brightest when she’s working in partnership with her person. She stands calmly for mounting, works happily in a snaffle or bitless bridle, and never startles — she’s simply a joy to handle.
Lucy came to End of the Trail Rescue with a history of chronic lameness, which we’ve traced to a small chip in her elbow. With good care and time, we haven’t seen any issues since she arrived. While this may limit her ability to perform high-intensity work without treatment, she is wonderfully capable as a pleasure-level riding companion. She’s eager, energetic, and loves to go — her enthusiasm is one of her most endearing traits.
She’s a confident, herd-dominant mare who does best with ample space to move and be herself. Pasture living or a roomy dry lot suits her perfectly.
