Troubadour’s Story
End of the Trail Horse Rescue offers homes to abused, abandoned and neglected horses of all ages. We give rescue horses a second chance.
A Heart as Big as the Open Range
Once a stunning, high-flying barrel racing horse, Troubadour lived for the thrill of the run. His athletic spirit and willing heart made him a partner every rider dreamed of. But when navicular syndrome slowed his stride, his owner made the compassionate decision to donate him to End of the Trail Rescue—ensuring he would have a safe, loving place to land.
Today, Troubadour is retired from riding, but his spirit is anything but dimmed. He’s an affectionate soul who absolutely adores attention—especially if it comes with scratches, soft words, or a friend to lean on. He’s also a bit of an escape artist, always ready to remind us that a curious mind and a clever heart can stir up just a little mischief.
Most days, you’ll find him quietly taking in the world around him, ears perked and eyes bright, always aware of the goings-on at the Ranch. He loves to stroll over to say hello and never misses a chance to spend time with his pasture buddies.
Troubadour may no longer race barrels, but he still wins hearts every single day.
