Sweet Pea’s Story

End of the Trail Horse Rescue offers homes to abused, abandoned and neglected horses of all ages. We give rescue horses a second chance.

Sweet Pea is a miniature horse that came to us from Texas crammed in a horse trailer full of barrel racing horses. Sweet Pea was in the trailer with a mini mare,  her mother named Mama. That is all we really know about the pair for history.

Sweet Pea was severely foundered and her feet were a mess.  We have worked to try and help with her feet and try and keep her comfortable. Sweet Pea will need a home that can provide special care for her feet. Come and meet Sweet Pea!!

Sweet Pea works with our Mental Health programs – her calm personality, sweet eyes and small size makes her perfect to work with our clients during their healing.  She has hoof problems and our clients can relate to her ‘disability’ as they bond with her.

    1. Hi Aelin – Thank you so much for your interest in Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea’s sponsorship will end soon and it would be wonderful if you would like to sponsor Sweet Pea. As far as adoption, Sweet Pea needs to stay with us at this time due to her bad feet and crippled condition. We have been working very hard to get her comfortable and want to maintain her treatment plan. Sweet Pea came to us with her Mother, Mama. If the day comes when they are ready for adoption, we would want Mama & Sweet Pea to be adopted together. Both are on a very stringent treatment plan for their feet and need lots of care. Again, Thank you for your interest. You are always welcome to come and visit Sweet Pea, just give us a call and set up an appointment.

      1. Thank you so much for your reply! We are sorry but we can not adopt both of them. We have one lonely horse and we were hoping to find a single small equine for her. Thanks again for your reply!
